I worry sometimes that people don't realize that not all cops are bad. Not all cops are good either. Within every group of people, no matter if the group is based on profession, religion, race, class, or anything else, there are bound to be some corrupt people. Unfortunately, the police do seem to stand out as the bad guys, even though they are the ones protecting the public.
Exactly. People are too eager to paint all of a group with one brush. It's similar to the concept of someone treating all of christianity as though they were the KKK, even though that was simply one branch of it. Unfortunately, whether it's most or only a few of the police, the effects on the public are massive and extremely damaging, considering they are charged with the task of protecting us. When they abuse their power, it takes a long time for the trust to be built up again.
